I'm not one to watch comic book inspired DVDs but since my husband loves the Justice League and watching that with him turned into a great revelation and enjoyment for me I thought I'd give this Bibleman DVD a chance.
Our hero, Bibleman, and his loyal friends, the Bible Adventure Team, are in the middle of a training session when the Commandant of Confusion and his side kick, Chaos, appear out of nowhere. They steal the secret weapon with a diabolical plot to use it against the Bible Team who need it in order to put on the full armor of God in the midst of any situation.
At first the acting and the use of a Bible verse for every thrust of the good guy's sword seemed a tad bit corny but I found myself drawn in with every amusing alliteration. Though the DVD is primarily for kids as young as 2/3 to 11, even the teens and adults watching the show were surprised by an action sequence that they just did not see coming. I would definitely recommend this.
I also enjoyed learning "The Word of God" Song which helps me remember what I need in order to put on God's armor. This is a wonderful way of encouraging our children to become familiar with the Bible and to recall certain verses which would help them later on in their lives.
